About me...
I prefer to practice herbalism the way it has been practiced for thousands of years: By using the whole herbs as food, teas and infusions. I'm a "traditional" herbalist. I focus on prevention and lifestyle, using plants as my ally. Herbs used in food and teas are milder, nurturing the systems in the body and, therefore, they don't create the side effects as do the concentrated supplements. Don't get me wrong. Supplements do have their place, but should not be taken all the time in the concentrated forms as these are becoming more like drugs with side effects.
I try to teach people to take more responsibility for their life and health, so that they don't become dependent on others to tell them what to do. Money influences markets whether they are healthcare systems or health food stores. You have to go to them for your answers or products. We've given the responsibility of our lives to them and then are shocked when we find they didn't have our best interest in mind. They each have their place, but not for our everyday wellness.
I try to teach people how to do a lot of their everyday lifestyles themselves whether it’s the food they eat or the personal products they use. Nature usually has their answer right outside their back doors. I try to stay away from "fad" ingredients grown in exotic places and I use what others would call the "common plants" or "weeds" you'd find in the fields or in the woods. I encourage people to grow herbs to use them in their cooking and making their home cleaning or body care products and tosupport their bodies.
I've been interested in alternative living, growing and using herbs for 30 years. As I grow and make healthy lifestyle changes for myself, I pass on what I've learned. This is the traditional way of herbs and healing handed down from father to son, mother to daughter, healer to apprentice. We have grown away from nature, forgetting her wisdom and, as we are a part of nature, we have grown away from ourselves. I'm calling people to come back to the very things that sustain us, so that we can gain back our respect for the earth, for ourselves and for future generations. It's time we get "Back to Basics.”
Good intentions are of no value without action. We can change our world for the better, but it has to start within ourselves. You do matter. You affect this world - either in a positive way or a negative one. We do this by our buying habits, our entertainment, our values, and the food we eat. We CAN make a difference. Let’s do it together one at a time. Today is the day you need to begin - just change one thing for the better in your life today!
I hope you will join me in the classes I prepare to help you reach a better place in your live.
